About Bob
In 2013 the Board of Supervisors unanimously voted for me to fill an unexpired term of the then current Opequon Board member Mr. William Ewing. In 2016, I was elected by the Citizens of Opequon District to serve a full four-year term, and I was re-elected in 2020 to serve another four-year term. While on the Board of Supervisors I have served as the Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, Chairman of the Human Resources Committee, member of the Finance committee, liasion member to Frederick Water, liasion member to the Handley Library Board, member of the Transportation Committee, liasion to Frederick County Parks and Recreation Committee, member of the Northwestern Regional Jail Authority, Frederick County’s representative to Virginia Association of Counties and Cities, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. Prior to being elected to the Fredrick County Board of Supervisors I was elected to the Stephens City Town Council and served eight years. I was chairman of the Town of Stephens City, Water and Sewer Committee and a member of the Historic Architectural Committee. I served on the Stephens City Planning Commission (a position in which I still serve) and on the Frederick County Planning Commission. I also served on the Frederick County Board of Zoning Appeals. I am running for re-election, this time as an Independent, to another four-year term with the campaign slogan “Frederick First.” Throughout my time on the Board of Supervisors my personal commitment has been to make all my decisions based on “What is best for Frederick County.” During my career I was a teacher in Fredrick County, VA Co-Principal in Prince Edward County, VA, and Assistant Principal at Robert E. Aylor Middle School in Frederick County, VA. I was employed for five years by Abex Corporation as Director of Safety and Human Resources. I left this position to become co-owner of Diversified Building Associates, Inc., a commercial construction company located in McLean, VA. After a successful five years in the field of commercial construction, I decided to change professions and began a career in the Insulation Contracting business. This career has lasted thirty-five years. I am currently owner, along with my two sons in a family business, Elite Insulation, LL./ Elite Concrete lifting and PolyPro Foam LLC. In 1966 I graduated from Shepherd College with a BA degree in Secondary Education. In 1973 received a Master’s Degree from the University of Virginia in Educational Administration. Always trying to learn as much as possible and stay current. I have attended and graduated from several State of Virginia courses such as the Virginia Conflict of Interest and Ethics training, the State of Virginia Counties and Cities planning courses and the State of Virginia’s “The role of a County Supervisor” in the State of Virginia. I have never thought of myself as a politician only a citizen servant. My whole reason for seeking another term is so that I can assure my constituents in the Opequon District and the other citizens in Frederick County that I will continue to do my best to do what is right for Frederick County and to always keep “FREDERICK FIRST.” I have been a member and President of the Stephens City, Lions Club, Assistant Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 15 in Stephens City serving for 35 years. (I am still on the Troop 15 committee,) member of Ross Fire Company since 1967, President of the Top of Virginia’s Builders Association for two terms, member of the Winchester Frederick County Conservation Club, LLC, and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winchester, VA. Received the Stephens City “Citizen of the Year” award, the Middletown Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co. Inc. Chief’s Award, the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver award, Shepherd University’s Alumni Association Emeritus Club Award, and was included in the Republican Presidential Honor Roll on September 2020. My Wife Pauline is a retired elementary School Librarian in Frederick County. A position she held for 35 years. She now serves our community by offering her volunteer services to may local organizations. We reside at our home of 50 years in the Town of Stephens City. |
